Fire Protection Network
Fire Protection Network is an organisation of Fire Safety Engineers.
The goal of our organisation is to promote Fire Safety Engineering and to keep our network alive and our knowledge up-to-date.
Promoting "Fire Safety Engineering" or "Performance Based Design" in countries that are not yet used to these concepts, requires amongst others that all concerned parties gain trust in this approach.
Our core values are a key success factor in the process of building trust:
Neutral and independent
Neutral in terms of technology: we stand for a balanced approach towards fire safety technology and solutions. In our view Fire Safety Engineering means looking for the adequate combination of active and passive fire protection and the right organisation for each specific case.
Neutral for our members, which means that we provide a neutral, respectful platform for all our members, whether they are competitors or supplier/customer to each other.
We will look for relationships with other organisations or with companies but without compromising our independency.
Integrity, Quality & Safety
We value integrity in our work as Fire Safety Engineers. We also strive to deliver the right quality based on a high level training at the university and a knowledge that is kept up-to-date by regular training and the sharing of experience through our network.
The ultimate goal is to contribute to a well-balanced fire safety.
Who are the members?
Alumni and students of the Fire Safety Engineering programs of the Genth University.
The Ghent university organises 2 types of training for Fire Safety Engineers:
-
a 2-year post graduate for academic engineers (MSc)
-
an International Master of Science (Erasmus Mundus) in collaboration with the universities of Edinburgh (UK) and Lund (Sweden).
